Summer is always a busy time of the year with families sharing time together outdoors. I have noticed personally that I have been giving a lot of attention to the outside and my deck, rather than looking at the interior of my home. Now that we can begin to meet up again after what has seemed to be an eternity of quarantine and social distance, I have started to entertain again, inviting friends and family over for various gatherings.
I have been researching outdoor rugs, outdoor forms of flooring and runners for my deck as well as waterproof runners for my utility area where my guests come back into the house dripping wet from the pool.
With this in mind, I have been looking at all sorts of rugs that are on the market, as well as considering carpet runners and decorative mats to place on the floor.
It was my husband that reminded me that when we installed the stair runner for our home, which shows off the beautiful oak steps, we had additonal pieces of the carpet whipped and bound as runners and mats should we ever need it. And there they were, stored in the garage on the top shelf just waiting for a suitable moment. With the gathering that I have arranged for next weekend, they will be unrolled, used and then returned to their resting place until the next event.
This is something that Affordable Carpet and Flooring can do for you, and you are so caught up in the moment when you have flooring put down that you forget that there could be some additonal waste from the carpet that you order. Runners and mats can be whipped and bound beautifully to assist in accessorizing around the house to tie in with your existing decor. As a seasonal feature that can be put away once the colder weather comes, This was such an easy fix.
This tip alone has saved me several hundred dollars that I would have spent on fancy rugs, that I can now put to better use.
I have kept this post brief as most of you are on vacation with your heads in the sun and clouds somewhere peaceful, but I will return soon with additional tips and trends.
Best Wishes for a safe Summer.
Frances.
